For being a one book (so far) author, I’ve really stuck my nose in a lot of places. I’m a member of the League of Utah Writers and we have a couple of events coming up. Somehow, I’ve managed to get heavily involved with both.
The Spring Conference for the League is in two weeks and I’m in charge of managing the volunteers. I’m also on a panel talking about characters. When someone tells you that “it isn’t what you know but who”, they aren’t kidding. I’m friends with the president-elect of LUW so I got drafted.
Then on May 28th is Spring Into Books! I’m on the committee for that managing finances. This event is a book-signing/selling with workshops. Everything is geared for families to come and have a great afternoon. Plus, I need to get everything ready for it as an author. At book signings, I’ve become the Wandman. Because they play a role in my books, I thought it would be fun for kids to be able to buy them from me also. I have a variety of wands available but last fall I got into pyrography – wood burning. These wands take more time and frankly look cooler than the painted ones. But I haven’t even started on the new batch yet! The next two months are going to be insane. I hope I’m still alive at the end.
This is the Novel Mage saying, *POOF*
