NaNoWriMo has not been going so well. Sure I’m around 10k words for the month so far but I should be over 20k. I have lots of excuses like the remodel on our shower, thinking about starting on finishing our basement, Angry Birds Friends, Duck Dynasty from Netflix. How on earth do I have time for writing? *sigh* I’ve started on book 2 of the Phoenix Cycle series which has caused a few tweaks to Kyle By Fire as I refine the world and the story. However, I think an editor would help. So I’ve started a kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/163486814/publishing-kyle-by-fire to help me pay for an editor and cover work. I think it’s got some pretty good rewards for even a small pledge.
I’m glad I took the advice from LTUE and started on book 2 before I published book 1. I’m beginning to see the story farther into the future now and details are gelling. My advice to you is the same. It’s harder to go back after you’ve published. Not that it’s impossible, even Orson Scott Card went back and tweaked Ender’s game.
This is the Novel Mage saying, *POOF*
