Wow, I kinda died. Yep, really. On March 21st I got laid off from my day job from a company I had been with almost 10 years. I died to the world until I got a new job. That took 3 weeks (with a week in Disneyland for good measure). Then as I slowly resurrected, adjusting to the new place and the much longer commute, my novel went into official editing and my writing dropped off quite a bit. Things have conspired against me for the May release of “Kyle by Fire” the first book in the Phoenix Cycle Series so I’m now looking late June.
Anyway, I got laid off again. Long story, it’s for the best. While I have not yet found my way back into the land of the employed just yet, I’m slowly trying to dig out of my grave. The surgery to fix my deviated septum helped dig the hole. Don’t let them kid you. “Minor surgery” is a big lie. There is only ‘surgery’ and ‘holy-crap-your-life-is-going-to-suck-for-a-long-while surgery’.
But I’m getting back to life. I’m excited to get my book back from my awesome editor. I’m hoping to get a new job soon so I can get a cover made for my book. I’m starting to outline book 2 because as I started writing it, the story went in an unexpected direction and now I need a map so I don’t get lost. I can breathe through my nose for the first time in over a week. Good things will come of this.
This is the Novel Mage saying, *POOF*
