All consuming

I used to think that television shows only being on once a week was stupid.  I liked Cheers and Night Court that were on every day even in re-runs.  Then we got Netflix.  Then we discovered 5 seasons of “Psych” on it.  Once school ended I imagined spending several nights a week writing.  I saw my book finally progressing to some kind of a conclusion.  That hasn’t worked out so well.  At 3-4 episodes a night, you can burn through 5 seaons pretty quick.  But you get nothing else done.

I got a Kindle Touch for Father’s Day.  I thought it would be great to read something other than a textbook again.  Did you know Fablehaven has 5 books!!  My daughter liked it.   I’m writing youth level fantasy.  I thought it would be good to get my juices flowing again by reading the genre I’m writing for.  Yep, more evenings chewed up doing something not novel related.  Now I’m finally done.  Perhaps I can make writing the new obsession before something else comes alive and swallows my time whole.

This is the Novel Mage saying, *POOF*
